Custom Picture Framing

Purchasing off the shelf frames is quick and usually less expensive than custom picture framing. However, sometimes you can’t find just that right frame, so you need to go custom. If you have an odd sized print, you are forced to go custom. The advantage of custom framing, is there are hundreds of moldings to choose from, so you can find the perfect frame. How to Dry mount a Photograph
Before framing a picture, it has to be mounted otherwise it could buckle in the frame. We recommend mounting anything larger than 11 x14. You can mount photographs on may different surfaces, but the substrate we prefer is foam core. Foam core is very flat,rigid, and light weight, making it ideal for picture framing. The only disadvantage with foam core, is it can easily get damaged. If you accidentally drop it, the corner will probably blow out rendering the photograph useless. So you must take great care when mounting with foam core.
